Welcome!

Hello all! My name is Sydney Rose Hoel, and I am a singer, actor, and voice teacher based out of New York City. I am originally from a small town in Illinois, and that upbringing has given me a passion for bringing untold stories to light. Whether it is on stage, in the rehearsal room, or in the voice studio, I strive to build safe spaces, uplift others, and make theatre a truly accessible artform.

Sydney Rose Hoel is a second-year master's candidate at New York University in Vocal Performance and a candidate for the Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy, studying music theatre in the studio of Devon Meddock. She received her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Illinois. She was most recently seen as Alice Beane in NYU Steinhardt’s production of Titanic, directed by Ted Sperling. Sydney is also a member of Village Voices under the direction of Janis Siegel and Lauren Kinhan.

Lyric Theatre @ Illinois: The Marvelous Wonderettes (Betty Jean), The Turn of the Screw (Flora), The Adventures of Little Sharp-Ears (Fox Cub/Chick). Other: The Sound of Music (Sister Sophia), Shrek the Musical (Gingy/Sugar Plum Fairy).
