Welcome!

Hello all! My name is Sydney Rose Hoel, and I am a singer, actor, and voice teacher based out of New York City. I am originally from a small town in Illinois, and that upbringing has given me a passion for bringing untold stories to light. Whether it is on stage, in the rehearsal room, or in the voice studio, I strive to build safe spaces, uplift others, and make theatre a truly accessible artform.

Sydney Rose Hoel is doctoral student at New York University, where she also serves as Adjunct Instructor of Voice. She will be seen this spring as Olive Ostrovsky in NYU Steinhardt's production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Sydney is a proud graduate of New York University (M.M. and Advanced Certificate of Vocal Pedagogy) and the University of Illinois (B.M.). NYU: Titanic (Alice Beane), Into the Woods (Jack's Mother), Village Voices. Regional: The Sound of Music (MiOpera). Lyric Theatre @ Illinois: The Marvelous Wonderettes (Betty Jean), The Turn of the Screw (Flora), The Adventures of Little Sharp-Ears (Fox Cub/Chick). Other: Shrek the Musical (Gingy/Sugar Plum Fairy).
